Amazing Swimming, Volunteer Requirements & Next Week
Parents,
Last night we ended up on the wrong side of the scorecard, but that is a great example of swimming a club that is mainly made up of year-round club swimmers. It only takes a few in each age group to change a meet drastically. I'm extremely proud of our coaching staff and the swimmers. Last night we had a record number of swimmers drop time in their events. This is a great sign that the work being put in is coming through. Please encourage your kids that while they may not have achieved a first place blue ribbon this meet, dropping time and making improvements overall are bigger keys to winning more races in the future. Last night is an example of what hard work year-round pays off as.
I want to thank all of you who have really stepped up the first two meets of the season. To say the last two meets were flawless wouldn't be accurate, but the little blips are things that happen in every meet. For those who have not signed up yet, I look forward to seeing your names this week on the job registration. If you are having a challenge of signing up, please come see myself, Vanessa, Amelia, Tanner, Ben, Andy or Erin...lots of people willing to help you. Please don't let me hear..."they have my check, they can cash it"...it takes all of us to run this team. If you want to talk to me about your volunteer hours, please give me a call at (248) 345-0104.
Next week we have our first road meet of the season. Harmony On the Lake is a smaller pool and they have some small and tight parking. I recommend carpooling as much as possible. We will arrive around 4:30-5:00 with our warm-ups beginning around 5:20-5:30. We will send more communication out next week. Please make sure to declare your swimmers for next week as soon as possible so that Coach Hannah and her team can put your kids in the best positions to succeed.
Last but certainly not least, ASA Championships are right around the corner and next Friday is the deadline to register for the meet. Please declare your swimmers for the Georgia Tech meet. The fee is $50 and is payable via Venmo, cash or check to @RG-Rays or River Green Rays. Each swimmer will get a really nice silicon white championship cap (I know you've seen some of the kids wearing last years). It's going to be a great time and let's represent River Green right!
I hope you all have a great weekend, thank you for the amazing support and LET'S GO RAYS.
