Dive Certification
While the depth of our pool does not allow for dive starts, we may swim against teams that do. If your child wishes to start from a diving position at these pools, your child will need to be dive certified. This is a Cherokee County Board of Health requirement.
Dive Certification expires after 2 years. Your swimmer will need to be re-certified every 2 years unless he or she swims on a year-round team.
Important: We are required to keep records of swimmers who are dive certified. If your child was certified through an organization, other than the Cherokee Recreation and Parks Department, then you must provide us with a copy of your dive certification.
Diving at meets: For meets where diving is allowed, mark a “D” on the shoulder of those swimmers who are certified to dive. You will be notified if a meet is held at a pool that allows diving.
Five year olds are not allowed to dive and do not need to be dive certified.
