2024 ASA Championships at Georgia Tech

Parents & Swimmers -

As the season is cruising along, we are already looking at the 2024 ASA Championships at Georgia Tech to wrap up the season. Last season we took our largest group of 23 swimmers to championships and they all had a great time and we had some really great swims. We had swimmers in all age groups medal. I would love to see us have over 35 or more this season and if we can get to 50, this would give River Green a great chance to place in our session of the meet. I'm also looking at getting special caps or towels made up if we get enough participants.  Again, my goal is to grow our team and our presence with ASA Swimming.

Here are the details:

2024 ASA Championships are Friday, June 28th (9:30AM - 1:00PM) Warm-ups will begin 90 minutes prior to the session.  We will meet as a group outside the aquatic center and go in together.  For the athletes and coaches, we will have a designated seating area.  Parents will have the ability to sit in the viewing area overlooking both pools.

Cost for entry is $48 per swimmer.  You can Venmo or provide me a check (check made out to River Green Rays) and we will make one payment to the folks at the ASA. We are just passing the fees through to the league.  Registration is due by Friday, June 21st at 1pm. Registration is available and open on our teams schedule page where you would normally register your swimmers.  If you have any questions, please let me know regarding registering your kids.  We will try to put together as many relay teams as possible based on the total number of swimmers in the age group.

If you or your swimmer has any questions about Championships in general, please see one of our amazing committee members or coaches and we can answer any and all questions. This is a great opportunity for our newer swimmers to experience swimming in a Olympic Pool (this way when the Olympics are on this summer they can tell their friends they swam in one), it gives them a chance to see what it's like to swim indoors.  For those swimmers who may be new or newer to the sport, this will give them an idea of what year round club swimming is like as well.  These meets are run off USA Swimming rules and standards and are very similar to a invitational meet.

For our parents, plenty of seating inside McAuley Aquatic Center to watch your kids swim.  Our committee team and coaching staff will make sure all of our kids are in the bullpens and in place for their events.  It's a fun event and stress free for parents.  For more information, here is the link to ASA Championship page https://asa.swimtopia.com/championship

I would love to see the RAYS show up big this year at Championships, we have some really amazing young swimmers and let's show everyone what we can do.  LET'S GO RAYS!
